Napalm and Sill-Putty

« on: January 18, 2010, 02:06:47 AM »

1960- The Vietnam war rages, thousands of Vietnamese civilians, Marines, Pilots, and personnel have died. The President sees the need for a war changing weapon, able to navigate the forest, and survive completely isolated from humanity. Congress signs a blank check, to the USMC R&D department in Groom Lake, Nevada. Project 121 is realized. 121 deals with ahead of it's time splicing techniques, splicing human DNA into a canine embryo. All experiments fail, producing either horribly disfigured abominations, or just dissapate in the artificial wombs. Experiment 121, a last ditch effort, lead by Lieutenant Robert dawes, tries it the other way around, splicing lupine DNA into a Human embryo. For nine months devolopment goes flawlessly, eventually giving rise to Subject-121-00001-61. Dawes names the subject Grey, against protocols. He is removed from the project, and named a security threat in 1961, leaving behind a wife and son, Jack Dawes.

1982- Jack Dawes is lead on Project 121, becoming close freinds with Grey. Beginning to wonder what would happen if Project 121 is terminated, Jack begins to form a contingency plan.

Jack looked at Grey, and back at the Commander. 121 was being terminated. Over the next few weeks of closing up shop, his colleagues began to dissappear. He bagan to worry, about his family, Grey, and himself. Thinking back to his father, everything began to fit together. The Military was liquidating it's assets. Jack knew he had to get Grey out of here. A noise came from Grey's cell, and the hybrid began to speak. "We're pretty much fucked, Ain't we?" he questioned. "Not if I have a say.'" Jack unlocked Grey's cell, and began to pick the weapons locker. He pulled out an M16, and a Colt, and handed Grey the Colt 1911. "I'm trusting you can use this?" he asked Grey. "Yeah," Grey said, pulling back the slide, locking it back, and slapping a Magazine in before pressing the slide release. "Point and shoot." Jack smiled as he began to lead his freind down the hall. They came to a door, and Jack swiped his key card, and the Marine on the other side was too shocked to raise his weapon before he was put down with a bullet from the M16. A squad turned the corner, and seeing Grey, they immediately raised their weapons. Jack dove behind a ventilator shaft, and Grey used the door as cover, but not before he took a 5.56 round in the leg. He clutched the wound with one hand, and fired around the door with the Forty-Five. Jack sprinted from his cover, and slid to a stop next to Grey, and used a strip od scoth to stop the bleeding. "What now Doc?"

War. It is part of the Human condition.
For as long as Humanity has been able to take life, we have done so in the name of everything, from Lust, to Greed, to simple Psychotic rage.
And eventually, War will consume us all, and we will have no one to point the finger at but ourselves...
