Melody's eyes brightened significantly. "You-you'll help me?" she looked dumbstruck.
"Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you!" Melody hugged them both, in turn. "I feel like I could kiss you! If there's anything I can do to repay you, just ask! If we find him, I'll be forever in your debt! Ask me anything! I love to help people!"
Melody seemed to have her whole personality change. She was now more bouncy and lively.

Savanna looked back in the direction of the burned city and turned to Melody. "Did you see any other survivors? What of the prince? Tell us everything you can, it would be a great help to us." She sat back down and gestured for the girl to do the same, offering her a drink from her canteen.

Nefertum followed the two as they sat down, and thought this the best opprutunity to leave real fast. He wanted to see the city himself, "I'll be back in a moment," he laughed lightly, "nature calls." He made a show of walking a ways from them into a secluded part of the oasis. He pressed his paw into the soft grass marking the spot, and focused on the city he had seen while flying overhead. There was a soft gust of air and he opened his eyes. Before him, was the great city. Parts of it were still on fire, others were burned to ash. It was like a blemish upon the earth, a black scar crying out. He walked through the once tall city gates, looking around, listening to the stillness and the silence.

"I think I saw the prince, but only just after he escaped the castle. We ran in different directions. Felix said he was going to help him get away, and that he'd meet up with me. I knew he wouldn't meet me later, but I was so confused that I just went with it... I don't know what I was thinking!" Melody's face saddened again.

Savannah put a paw on her shoulder and smiled. "Im sure Felix is fine, if he's with my brother. They're probably somewhere safe by now." She offered the young female another drink from her canteen. She wondered what was taking Nefertum so long.

All around him were ruins, he didn't know what to do. Nefertum knew that Savannah could not come back to see this, she would be to upset. Neither could the small girl, Melody, he remembered. He went up to the foot of the palace an looked up at it. It was one of the few buildings that was still burning. No, he thought, we will journey away from this place, they will not see this... He turned and willed himself back to the small oasis. Nefertum felt a deep saddness for the two, that there was no home for them to go back to, no people that he saw. Perhaps tonight I will fly overhead, see if I can spot any straglers in the desert... he walked out from his small area and started towards the other two, deep in thought.

"Thank you," Melody accepted the drink from Savannah's canteen. "I have to sleep now," Melody informed Savannah and the re-emerged Nefertum, "I want to find Felix tomorrow, so I'll need rest. Good night." Melody made herself a small pillow from some scattered leaves, and lay down. She closed her eyes, and restlessly fell asleep, thinking of Felix in pain.

Nefertum smiled at Savannah, then looked to Melody. It looked like they're weren't going to go anywhere today, and being that night was going to fall soon he needed some more dry wood, and food for them all. "Guess we're spending the night here huh?" he said, thinking that he probably needed to tell Savannah at least what he could do. "Savannah, I need to share something with you, but you it is something that I would have kept private."

He took a deep breath before proceeding. "There are things, powers that I am able to do. They allowed me to follow you, and to get us food. They also allowed me to go to your city just a bit ago..." He looked to the ground, "I can shift, that is change my shape. I followed you as a bird. I can also will myself practically anywhere I wish, and be there in an eyeblink. That is how I went to your city, and how I got food for us last night. I tell you this because I need to go and find more food for our guest, and because it will probably make our travels easier, in any case we can be out of the dessert when she wakes up."

Her eyes widened with surprise but she held her tounge. She tilted her head to one side when he mentioned being out of the dessert before Melody woke up. "Are you saying we should just leave her here?" She didn't like that thought at all and hoped he did not mean so.

Nefertum shook his head, "My meaning was unclear, I meant after she wakes up, we can decide where we wish to go. As long as you hang onto me, I can take you with me."
(Whoops....that was not my intention, I need to read what I type out...I think it and sometimes I forget a word.... -.-)

(hope no one minds I'm joining in >.> name: Vaan appearance: a male squirrel with dark brown fur, a large puffy tail, and a single white strip from the bottum of his neck to the tip of his tail wearing: a dark green turban, and brown cloth around his face from his neck up to his nose, and a dark green robe with a brown belt used to carry many things powers: excellent thief, and is very fast.)
Vaan was a highway man. he normally stole from the rich and used what he stole to help less fortunite, but he sometimes stole from people to get back at them or get something he wanted. he was wondering around the borders of the city that he didn't know burned down hoping to catch a merchant or a high official when he saw a white figure in the distance still fairly far away. He tried to get closer and crept up behind a small bush then he noticed Savannah wearing fine clothing and thought to himself. Such nice clothing they must have something worthy of stealing. Vaan kneeled down and watched them waiting for a moment to try to sneak up and steal something.

Nefertum's ear flicked as he heard a branch crack softly from a bush a way's off. He kept his attention on Savannah, but kept it in his side vision.
(OCC: Totally read this and then walked to class, and I thought of you Goramz when I saw a squirlell crawing through the snow....it made me laugh.)
