Alek's eyes seemed to light up at this and he shook his head, "No, not at all. It'd be great for you to come along. I don't get many people over hardly at all... they think I'm a bit..." Alek shook his head again, "Anyways, yeah, sure. If you want I can show you how to do some of this stuff, it's really not that hard, and anyone can use a torch for cutting after being shown one time. I swear, the sparks it spits look scary, but once you have a shield over your face, it's not bad at all."

He frowned, "They think your a bit..." He trailed off then laughed lightly, "I'm good with fire, I like fire....it's the getting burned cutting off an arm that I'm worried about." he held up his paws, "Remember? I'm clumsy for a cat, but if your teaching me, I'm sure I'll do fine. You aren't missing anything, so I'm sure I'll do fine."

Alek couldn't help the smirk that crossed his face, "Well good you like fire. An oxyacetylene torch can get up over 6000 degrees if you push it and cut through two inches of steel like a knife through butter." No longer interested in his salad infront of him, Alek put the lid on it, deciding to just take it home and keep it for later. "So shall we head out now then?" He asked, cocking his head to the side a bit with a pleasant smile.

"But of course." he stood up, "Lead on....seeing as I have no idea where to go." He punched Alek's arm lightly, "Just as long as you don't knock anyone else down heh."

Alek rolled his eyes with a grin, giving a playful swat back at Ker, before gathering his food and bag and getting up as well, "Oh yeah." His voice was sarcastic, "At my height, I'm so taking out that rino on the football team first thing tomorrow, you know?" Shaking his head with a smile, Alek moved with Ker through the building and back outside. "Did you drive today?" He asked. "I took the bus myself, but if you did drive I don't know if you would want to leave your car behind or something."

Ker laughed and followed Alek, "Good luck with the rhino bud. And ya my car's parked in the lot. If there's a place to park around your area I could drive." He pulled out a smoke and lit it, taking a drag.

Alek glanced up at Ker, "Yeah, there's parking right outside. Either on the street, in the drive or worst comes worst we can pull it into the garage where my car is."

Ker laughed walking to a little tan Mercedes. "Why would that be bad?" he asked, "This car doesn't even idle right, I have to keep my foot on the gas when I'm stopped."

Alek grinned a bit, following the tiger. Nearing the car, Alek moved around to the passenger side, waiting patiently for the door to be unlocked, "I didn't mean bad like that. The shop is on one of the main roads, down on Mason Street, so somtimes parking can be a pain for visitors cause you get all the cubs from the high school in at the coffee shop across the street and they like to think my place is parking."

Ker laughed. "Gotcha. Now I'm not to good with the names of streets, I remember by seeing where I go. This tends to get me lost more often than not, but it is what it is." He chuckled and started the car. Pulling out and with the help of Alex, found the fox's home. Pulling up on the street, he parked next to the curb. "Am I okay here?" he asked, not knowing the rules of parking in a neighborhood like this one. Ker wasn't from the city, and usually parked in the ramp, so parking on the streets was a bit new to him.

The drive there was pretty much uneventful, filled mostly by Alek giving directions on how to turn than by street names. When they arrived, Alek nodding to Ker with a smile, "Yeah you're fine here." Once the car was put into park, the fennec hopping out with his things and moved up to his home. The outside of Alek's place looked rather plain, just once small door to come and go and one big garage door where cars could go in and out of the shop area. Moving up to the small door, Alek led Ker along, pulled out his keys and unlocked the door. Inside, it was completely different. Alek's silver Buick sat parked on the far side of the shop, out of the way, while the shop itself was in organized disarray. There seemed to be a big plie of scrap metal off to the side and a pile of good metal next to it in an organized fashion for the most part. Various projects lay around, while Alek's welder sat in the middle of the room and his other tools off to the side. On the far back wall behind his car were cylenders of gasses, tied to the wall with chains, and on the other side of the shop was a spiral staircase that led up to his living area above the garage. "Well, this is it. You can set your things wherever." Alek murmured softly, moving over to a mini fridge and storing his salad in there, before dropping his messenger bag down to the concrete floor next to it.

"Whoa..." Ker looked around at all the pieces. "You've done all this?" He walked around the big space, "This is nuts, dude! Where do you find all this stuff?"

Alek nodded slowly, paws folded behind his back as he simply watched Ker look around. "Depends on what I want. If it's like... quarter inch steel, I need to order it in from a metal company. Otherwise I just go down to the junk yard and take my pick. It's alot cheaper there." Finally moving, Alek went over to the welder in the middle of the shop and folded it all back together neatly, before leaning down to push the cart it was on back over to the wall and out of the way. "Now... the torch..." He mused softly, going over to another cart that had two cylinders on it and roughly tugging the heavy cart out to the open. "Torch is two tanks, oxygen and acetylene, which mixes in the wand itself to form an oxyacetylene flame." Once the torch was in place the fennec moved over to the pile of metal and after fighting for a bit with the weight, drug out a thick piece of steel. His ears flattened back as he pulled the steel across the floor and over to a work bench, pausing for a moment to get his strength, before hauling the steel up on the bench with a huff.

"So, what do the two chemicals do to eachother then? Once they're mixed." He asked, wondering what the chemical process was, "Obviously one acts as a catalyst to increase the rate and heat of the reaction right? But which it which? " Ker watched Alek hall the sheet of metal and stuggle with it a bit. "You know," he said walking over, "If you want help lifting this or moving it around I'd do it,"  He looked at the other larger pieces of metal, "Especially since some of these are bigger then you.." He smiled, "I'd be afraid I'd get squished. Big sheet of metal would fall on me, smush me flat and nobody would know until they found me when they moved the metal..."

Alek shot Ker a grin, "I got it, thank you anyways though. Worst that'll happen is you'll squish your toes." Moving the steel about, Alek had it hang halfway off the workbench, before moving over to get a nice sized metal tub full of water, dragging that over to sit under the metal. "As for the chemicals, you turn on the acetylene first, that's what catches fire which you light with a striker. The oxygen is what feeds the fire and lets it reach such high temperatures and helps you to control the flame. Acetylene should be under 15 psi or it gets hazardous and oxygen is anywhere between 5 and 8." Once the bucket was in place, Alek went over to the wall and pulled down a welding helmet for himself and one for Ker, handing it over to the tiger so he could watch as well. Picking up the wand for the torch, Alek turned on both cylinders and then adjusted the pressure on the regulator, before showing Ker the wand. "Now acetylene is the red dial and oxygen is green." Turning on the red dial, Alek picked up the striker and lit the torch which poofed to life. Pocking the striker for the time being, Alek then slowly turned on the oxygen. "What we want is a six point flame for cutting." He spoke softly as he adusted the flame slowly to show the tiger how the oxygen being increased caused the flame to turn blue with six white points near the tip of the wand.
