Well this is my first attempt doing furry art so here goes A lot off you might see that i tryid to make it look like me in the naked tred, with the shirt and all My first picI know it sucks but i dont got any scanner so.... |

Very cool, would be nice if you had a scanner though, Ask your friends. it's what i did. Scan as a BMP for best quality.

That's your first anthro drawing? Great! Overall great form and proportions. I look forward to seeing more.
I have to use a digital camera to make digital copies of my art. Much of it is larger than 8.5"x11" (larger scanner beds start at $1000), and the scanner I did have died in a move. If you need to take pictures with a camera instead of a scanner, here are a few tips:
- Take the picture in indirect, bright, natural light
- Failing that, use a halogen lamp on full brightness aimed at a white ceiling
- Do not use a flash - EVER
- Take multiple pictures on the highest detail as close as you can
- Play with the different light settings your camera has - auto works best on mine
- Use the edges of the page as a framing reference for when the camera is pointed directly at the paper. When it is not directly on, you will have perspective distortion of your drawing. If all the edges of the paper are parallel to the edges of the camera, you know you are looking directly at the paper.
When you put the image in your computer, expect to do some work with the color and light balance, curves, and levels. Practice really makes perfect with that, because each piece requires different adjustments. The more you do, the easier it will get. The one constant is that your whites will always come out some shade of off grey in the raw photo.

If you want quality, go with .PNG If you want a small size with relatively high quality, go with .JPG or .JPEG Never, NEVER save anything as a .BMP, unless you want a average image of art scanned at a 400x600 size to be roughly 2 MB, whereas saving it as a .JPG would make the same image 60 KB, and a .PNG about 165 KB or so. Looking forward to more pictures. :P |
